Great website as it is top of any Porsche related search, hence they get alot of first time and only time customers!
True, but on a 911 uk forum where they are a sponsor the last time a name and shame topic concerning them was started it was promptly closed and possibly deleted so unfortunately a few folk are still ignorant.

Arhh, yes true, happens alot on Pistonheads too as they also give some of their ill gotten gains to advertise on that forum and so are seen as golden bollox by the mods.

back in the day when porsche shop where in Birmingham that dept was a two man out fit running from a little rented unit. They have mushroomed now in the last twenty years. I remember I gave them a 911 3.2 to put new engine lid struts on in their workshop and they damaged my car doing that dented engine lid. I second the cowboy outfit vote.

There is a difference from being total crap to ripping people off, they are extremely good at both. I see they advertise on here, good to see the American mods have bigger ***** than the British ones!

They tend to take orders despite not having stock. Crucially they won'y notify you of lack of stock/ parts are on order or that they are waiting for enough purchases to buy in bulk.

Poor customer service - bad attitude, bad communication & lack of knowledge.

Design911 - have a similar reputation. They have also diversified into many after market parts for other marques.

Good places IMO
Type911 - Matthew, gets my vote every time.

I second Type911shop.co.uk, IMO is the best service online Porsche shop, Matt gives you personalized service & answers emails promptly. He can get you virtually anything Porsche though its not listed on his website. If hes misses something he will promptly make it right, free of charge of course.

Pelican has the best selections & on line part diagram but unfortunately doesn't ship to all countries from their website, you have to email them separately so its a bit of hassle.

Not affiliated with any but a very satisfied customer.

Sorry to hear my thoughts have become reality. The Porscheshop really needs to left well alone and hopefully it will then die a slow and painful death, like it deserves.

Just used Type911 and Design911. Bought a set of RS discs and 993 pads for my brake upgrade. Type911 were better priced than Design911 for the brakes. I'm about to use Type911 again for some more bits. I bought some H&R anti roll bars from Design911 (I suddenly got it in my head that H&R may stop making them for our 20 year old cars soon and thought I'd order a set up just in case...!). Service from Design911 was very good too. Because I had my parts delivered to work they wanted confirmation of the address so posted a letter to my home address asking me to confirm a code. I emailed the code back and my parts were sent same day. Plenty of confirmation emails and tracking numbers and my email query on the code was answered very quickly.

From my experience, Pelican, design911, fvd and vertex are all good.

I've had bad experiences with auto atlanta and wanted to try porscheshop once. Fortunnately I came across this thread and switched to another shop.

We need to keep posting our experiences as it worked for me... Where else would we turn.

There may be more good stores out there.
