Default Install front license plate?

The car is in the body shop now, getting the GP white RSA spoiler purchased from Nathan on the board installed, front bumper cover reshot, smile replaced plus some other minor spiffs. It should be ready by mid-week and, by that point, I hope to have figured out how to post some photos here.

Anyway, my issue at this point is a pretty minor one - whether to install a front license plate bracket w/Porsche plate. I've got the new bracket, the license plate and all hardware but am having second thoughts about whether I should do this to the front of the car. Front license plates are not required in my state. Any suggestions from the board on this minor little point? I'm starting to like the look of the naked front end and would appreciate some thoughts from the board.

If I didn't have to mar the front with a plate or bracket I wouldn't.

I don't run a front plate or any of the associated brackets (I don't even have the bracket), but my front bumper has the two plastic inserts for installing all that noise.

My state requires a front plate and I still refuse to drill holes in the bumper for a bracket.

I have driven since '67 and have not used a front plate. Just recently, 3 yrs. ago, while the car was parked in a public parking lot and I was away on vacation, I got my first ticket.

There is a company that makes license plate brackets that connect to the tow hook point.

It looks better without it but for me since I do a lot of parallel parking it protects my front bumper.

I have the two holes/bushings for the bracket but I don't want to put on plate even though I have personalized plate. It doesn't look right. It is requried in ND, however, the fine is negligible. I think it is not a primary offense to pull you over and even so you start with a warning.

No you should not run a front plate. You should be banned for even asking.

^^^^ No ban, please! And no front license plate for me. I took the advice of the board and ordered some plugs from BumperPlugs and much prefer this clean look.

Thanks for the suggestion of Bumper Plugs.

In a previous car I had some success securing the front plate on the "backside" of a deployed sunvisor. I ran into the occasional grumble, but was able to quibble my way out of a ticket. : )

+1

Agree, the front plate is hideous on any 911, however it is required in Colorado. I don't need another reason to be pulled over
