did you snap the bolt when removing or putting it in? i am assuming when you put it in but just want to make sure bc I just took my motor mounts out. if it was in, then I need to be very careful with the torque.
thanks,
Steve

When I put it in with the torque wrench. The bolts must not have been as good as I thought and I may had had it set to high since I didn't find 1 torque recommendation for those. Easy to find for the 19mm nut. That was in my workshop manual. So I am thinks I went to far and bolts were 22 years old?

The two small bolts are only to keep the mount in place so there is very little torque needed. Just nice and firm or 23 nm as suggested by Thomas is plenty.

Glad we have this forum so I could learn about the mounts. What would I be doing if this site didn't exist? I know I would be driving this car with poor shifting or pay a pile of $$$ or €€ or ££ to have it worked on.
Thanks again everyone!

Ray,
I noticed in your pic that you used the OE 964 metal triangular tabs (washers). They fit in the OE 964 mounts but do not fit in the 993C4 mounts. I ground off the corners so they would fit in the 993 mounts. My guess is the washers are designed as a locking washer because they fit down in the grove not allowing the bolt to rotate.

Same here when I changed to 993 mounts.....
Found a set of hardened thick washers in the drawer from a Fiat 600 headbolt. Works perfect and the car now has some Italian race parts !

Well, I just joined the club. I snapped the inner bolt on the right side MM. Happened on reinstall. 1/4 drill and #2 easy out plus 1 center punch and 2 beers later....
I thinks those M8 x 40 bolts develope stress cracks. I broke mine just hand tigthening.
