Default Wheel Offset Question

Hoping someone can help me with a offset for C2 964. I understand what offset is, don't know what works on a 964. Looking at possible set of wheels, 54MM front offsets and 42MM rear offsets. Was told these were on a NB 964 but wanted to check.

Sounds like they will fit, but to be 100% sure, need to know size of wheel and tires as well.

Why would you say that?

The wheels on my car are 7.5" x 17" ET 52 and 9" x 17" ET 47, with tire size 225 x 45 x 17 and 255 x 40 x 17 which is a perfect fit IMHO.
You will still have to know the width of your wheels before you buy, or you may run into fitment problems.

offsets are completely irrelevant with the wheel width.

post wheel widths.

no need to tell us the diameter.

you should really tell us your ride heights also and spring rates .. if you want to go quite aggressive with a low ride height.

it would be perfect if the wheel width is 10"

10ET42 is pretty close to perfect with full negative camber & stiff springs.

Peek to the left here...proof on a (very) low car.

if the rear wheel width was 8" ... then 8ET42 is not so good for the rear

So now you are saying that width and ET are relevant? I am confused.

you need to find the link to that wheel offset calculator .. it has been posted many times in the forums here.

how did you guess that ET42 would be ok for the rear?

did you assume it was, for example, 8ET42 or maybe 10ET42 or even 12ET42?

they will all be quite different.
