Thanks all for the information and for putting up with me not listing the information needed for an answer.

The wheels are 7.5 X 17 front / 9 X 17 rear -- 54MM front and 42MM rear -- tires 205/50/17 front & 255/40/17 rear

cool .. so let me make it easier with primary starting info .. once we sort out the wheels, then work on the tyres, springs, ride height, etc.

7.5ET54 ... and ... 9ET42

http://www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp

go to my thread on 10ET40 ... compared to 10ET40, your outside rim edge will be 15mm further clearance and the inside edge an extra 10mm clearance.

You'll be fine; this sems like a nice fit. I wonder if you don't want a bit more tire though...

I would agree with Kai, a 225/45/17 front tire would be a better choice.

Thanks for the help everyone! It happens that the these are tires that are on the wheels already, will replace with wear. Was looking for another set of wheels so I can have dedicated set for the track, those do have 225/45/17 fronts.
