Default Parts suppliers, parts pricing, research, etc., Excel spreadsheets, lol

How much due diligence do you guys do when buying parts? I'll usually do something like this whenever i'm buying a decent amount of parts in one order.

I already picked up the distributors caps off of Amazon for cheap (fingers crossed they're the correct parts when I receive them) and i'll probably do the same w/ the ignition rotors. I'll probably get the rest of the stuff from Sunset. ECS Tuning comes close, but they don't carry the distributor belt, and they're a few dollars more expensive than Sunset.

I've done something similar in the past but most of the time I don't bother. By the way, shouldn't you add applicable tax and shipping to your comparison costs? I'm not ****. I'm not!

I used to until I realized that Sunset was eating everyone else's lunch on OEM parts, now I don't bother. Other stuff comes from Rock Auto or Pelican.

Oh I am embarrassed about the spreadsheets I've made up and the way I store my history folder...

My folders are smart metal binders with subject dividers and everything chronologically organised within plastic wallets.

I have one folder with specifications, instruction manuals etc.
Another with the cars history up to my ownership and another with my history.

The next owner would think I was insane!

No affiliation - but I've had great service and pricing from Mike Johnson at 5150 Motorsports in California. He has a 964 as well. Packs everything like it's a Faberge egg too.
