Oh, and the warning light is for oil pressure, not oil level. Low oil pressure is a different can of worms and might need further investigation, although it'll fall low enough to allow the light to come on briefly if the car is very hot with relatively thin oil. Being down a bit on oil shouldn't, by itself, trigger the warning light.

Come on guys, so many variations on a theme, why not just : approx 9 litres needed for the oil change; oil hot and idling for c 30 secs on level ground to check the dipstick and the gauge.

Simples as Sergei!
