Default My Tin Worm Adventure...

I bought my C4 Cab last summer. My first Porsche! This is the only body issue on the it but I am concerned how big it may be.

I would appreciate help from you experienced owners on opinions on how bad this may end up and any suggestions. I can take it. It's my winter/spring project.

Has anyone seen or experienced this area having issues? I have searched and read a number of threads regarding wind screen rust but none under the front truck corner.

Thank you all for your help!

Yikes, that's fairly nasty. The true extent will of course be three or four times what you can see. I'm guessing the rust has fully perforated the scuttle and the fender. But hey it's only metal and it's all fixable

Alex, yeah I am worried about what I may find. New metal is likley in the forecast. My main goal is to stop the rust and hopefully when the kids are done with college can do a full body restore and make it new again.

Thanks for the encouragement. I will post pic updates on what I find. I am likely having the metal and paint work done by a local reputable body shop I have a relationship with.

Car went into shop today to begin rust removal and sheet metal work. Looking forward to seeing it done! Also getting the three holes for the third light filled so it looks ROW and the spoiler will have an LED strip in it when I get it back. Then I can change my profile pic.

take plenty of pics along the way for your own records if nothing else. Good luck with your project hopefully the rust will not be too bad once the front wings are removed you will see what is needed if anything.

Some update pics of scuttle. She comes home Monday.

The fender was only little surface rust but the scuttle was bad. They got all the rust without removing fender. The fenders have not been off so was glad the rust was well contained. I am very happy I decided to do now. Wish previous owner had done something about it.

Later will respray front bumper. It has small cracks in paint, (crazing) I use black polish that helps it, but will be nice to have smooth bumper.

That looks to have been caught just in time.

Nice little repair that will let you sleep at night now knowing it won't be spreading.
