Only 360 hp?!? Did someone assure you it would make more??? What horsepower were you expecting from a N/A motor?

So not to build a track or drag car - but mainly to build a street car with outright power?

Let's face it though, for most of us, 90% of what we do is on the street. What an awesome sleeper. But don't mistake it as not being a track contender.

Love the thread and the project.

The care below is a REAL '67 GT500 that the owner converted into an Eleanor (GT500E). People can't believe the guy did that to the car but hey, it's his car (and probably the least expensive in his collection).

I don't want to pollute this thread, but would only say to do some research. Plenty of track prepped GM-based V8 Porsches out there. Drop an LS7 in a car with you mods and you'd get smoked.

They say that about GT-3 RS's also, don't they?

Power is less than half the equation.

KAIB, i like the look of your car, and very much respect all porsche owners. i am not a racer tho and likely would just have to turn you down on that one. thank you tho.

i have driven a 944t with a ls1 in it as well and it would eat up vettes, vipers, f430's, and so on. so you are correct, power isnt always the answer.

yes the stock ls7 is 505hp 500+tq. with my mods it will conservatively be in the 600hp neighborhood. pushing the limits of the kevlar clutch. so im pretty sure i will not go much further than that. dont want to go to twin or triple clutches for a street car.

to elaborate on the g50 a little further... some have asked. i have a 964 g50 05, a 965 g5052 turbo box, and a 993 g50 six speed. taking the best and strongest parts from the 964 and 965 boxes for this particular build. then the parts that are left over i am putting together in the 993 box and converting it to a early style short tail g50 box for my 88 911 g50 car that is also getting an ls motor.

Do you guys if anyone has dropped an LS motor in a Boxter? I'm thinking that would be pretty awesome!

I wouldn't attempt it until these guys did it first.
