Ruf964,

This is an interesting project, but we want pictures of the build, otherwise, It's a bit boring!

mated the g50 to the motor, then mocked up inside engine bay to start building my own motor mounts as a bolt in kit into the factory 3.6 bolt locations.

the valve covers in the pic are just some used ones laying around to keep the dirt out of the motor, the actual valve covers are at the powder coaters

at this point the intake is still in the gm original direction and could be made to work, but I will likely flip the intake around like most ls 911's.

as you can see, there is about 6 inches of room on both sides of the motor, you could practically stand in the engine bay with the motor.

I will put the gm returnless fuel filter in the stock 964 filter location on the passenger side engine firewall. I will re route the Porsche ac lines to the gm compressor down low. once the ac lines are moved I will mount the lsx pcm on the drivers side engine firewall.

I build my own lsx engine cradle. I designed my system to use vortec truck ac and alt and pulley so you don't have to spend the $$$ on the Camaro or corvette setups. I built my own Kevlar clutch using a seasoned sachs center with tribco Kevlar linings. built my own pressure plate, sachs turbo pressure plate with 1 more tension strap at all 3 locations for around 500 more ft lbs of tq holding power. together my clutch and pressure plate will easily hold the 580hp to 600hp ish motor.

I build my own stand alone lsx wire harness. I am using jba 409 stainless headers for this application, 2.5" stainless pipe, and magnaflow dual stainless mufflers.

traditionally lsx 911's vent the hot air from the radiator down under the car. under normal daily driver circumstances this would be fine. and 99% of the time this car will be a wkend driver... but some of my buddies here local have shagged me into run this at the texas mile in the spring of 2014. with that in the thought process, a 200mph run isn't out of the question. ruf yellowbird only has 450hp and a tall gearset and ran 211mph. the car will exceed yellowbirds hp and gearing. so I think venting the hot air out the top of the hood would be a better aerodynamic move. I know, I know it ruins the look of the car, but I have several hoods and and for the texas mile run I could put on a different hood, and for daily driving put the stock hood back on and redirect the cooling back under the car. any thoughts?
