@GentlemanRacer hey man I see I've missed some progress there too! I've been living on 356registry.org while doing 2 nut and bolt restos

@911Jetta good to see the old die hards still here man! Hope all is good. Driving is the ultimate in physical distancing after all

Your engine build is on my list of followed threads, in preparation for my Stage 3 engine and transmission overhaul in a few months time.

Ok great 👍 I should go review it ... Did I leave my cylinder head volume calc there?? Must say the Motec made the move to ITBs alot simpler than expected .. will post more detail there

I mocked this up in perspex to get an idea if it would work - I have the ITBs and rain shield now so tray can't close

I do quite like the early 964 cup extended wing idea .. but I think Duck tail will be neater and get better air in over all.

I have an old duck which needs tidying up and am going to replicate the orig 964 intake with sloped fins to get the air in better than the earlier 911 grill does (not sloped)

the ferrari vents I saw gave me the idea of laser cutting the cross members - same size and maybe slightly higher than the orig 964 vent that is hard-coded into the 964 tray, then have the carriers (3 of them) slotted at an angle and putting the cross peice into that.

so this can be replicated and maybe slightly improved by making it 10-20% larger as the ducktail has the space, and by making the lateral pieces 10-15% higher

I had clear rain shields vacuum pulled over the orig K&N shields - they aren't to all tastes but I like seeing the trumpets - car sounds great

this part removed to allow the shield on the right bank (offset back) to fit

yes I'm waiting for new filters! amazon very slow atm or at least for shipping across the ocean (fedex)

I'm assuming that's kW and Nm, so approximately 300hp and 270ft/lb? That's good power at the wheels.

apologies - its a bit of a lengthy post!

a couple pics as I review the upgrades/developments/idea from 2018-now - apologies if things get a bit out of sync between writing and pics - @Rennlist Staff & mods thanks for making the pics paste-able now - wow what an improvement!

1. ali RS bonnet - orig yellow now white

2. big improvement by installing the Bilstein PS10s on inplace of the orig RS shocks - kept the monoball tops though @Drola964 thanks bud! great seller

3. sunroof delete - new headliner, privoed heat/sound proofing (and lots of kilos out) and built and added singer boor pockets

3b. swopped the 996 GT3 seats out for Recaro SPGs but remoulded in Carbon

4. upgrade from m84 to M600 with flex fuel (in process)

5. 993 coils & big reds & 993 6 speed box (again @Drola964 thanks) and refurbed starter

6. bigger rolls bars, suspension refresh (aquablast, new bushes etc...) while i was in there re the elec power steering

7. rebuilt the 3 piece BBS e28s with a helping hand (yes kids have made time for RL a bit short over the last 3 years!)

8. redid oil lines and oil tank

9. rear roll cage

10. baby duck tail - clip onto retractable spoiler so when down it's ha;f a duck and when up it's same height shape as a duck (borrowed heavily from singer)

.. sounds about all

while in there wheel arch refresh

tried the koni adjustables a friend had - way prefer the 10 click PSS10s Bilsteins

Roll cage at rear for belts and stiffness

sunroof delete holding up well - more pics re this below (spot welder etc..)

Merc A1 PS pump electric

lighter and tighter = Funner

Free labor and time to hang and learn co-ord / righty tighty

sunroof from UK guy - perfect fit

Recaros in CF - yes have the mould now

love the 6-RS seats but they were bulky

rust be-gone

lucked into one of these

better sound and heat proofing - big gains for tiny weight

newer again

been trying out various rims - like the cups best but the BBS always make you smile

discovered Aquablasting

Baby duck - need and open to honest feedback - likely needs it own thread

first in super wood - now cast in FG / CF

less over fueling - M600 and ITBs running just TPS

Default Screen printed gauge

Hiwind, could you make one that goes from 7 ... 11? Wouldn’t need to cover the actual distance, just sort of skip from 7 to 11 round about where an 8 or 9 would naturally go.
