This is what I did with my car. I agreed a price with the seller, on the condition that the PPI did not throw up anything besides normal service items. The PPI was expensive at $650 and included a compression and leakdown test.

But in the end, the PPI did identify a few things, and the P-car specialist estimated a $2k repair bill. And voila...$2k chopped off the price of the car, just like that

Seemed like a nice C4 for $12.5k but the owner wouldn't allow a PPI.. guess that's that!

Good call. If they are not interested in a PPI then that is a red flag

An owner should never be hesitant about a PPI. I would keep looking. The right car will come along.
