Then I guess it's another one of those touchy-feely subjective things. All hold up very well, even in today's terms. But the newer cars are certainly more competent in as-delivered form.
I challenge anyone to say a stock torsion bar car (raise your hand if you remember running such on P7s..........) is a fun ride. Lower/align/decent tires/larger rear torsion bars/properly ugraded and valved dampers, and you've got something transformed relative to a 996 that pretty much works fine off the showroom.
So what do you do with those of us who have owned, maintained, and raced both platforms?

I've had both (c2's) & to be honest im no pro driver but the two cars to me feel very much the same to me and the only reason I like the 964 more than my old 993 is purely looks & there two great cars to close to call in my opinion....I think the 993 was a tad more mellow to drive from memory ( 8 yrs apart ownership) or its just I'm 8 years older & stiffer!!
I think a 964/993 is a fab car to own & I'm just gratefull to own such a fun car & have it in my garage...
Ok a 3.8 rsr be nice!!

As I have both its a tough call
1990 /964 C2 Manual sharper handling, feels smaller, more nimble, gets all the comments from passers by ,turns in better on track
1997 C2 993 Manual A better all rounder, harder to get to let go on a corner, never runs out puff ,feels faster does every thing just a little better
Both cars have had suspension refresh/poly bushes and a whole heap of other stuff done
964 is stock engine wise (250?) 993 is remapped and some other goodies (300 +)
If one had to go it would be the 64 but only becuse I have had the 993 for 7 years

I went to Barnes & Noble tonight and the issue they had on the magazine rack was the October 2012 issue w/ the new Ferrari F12 on the cover and it did not appear to have the 964 content being discussed in this thread.
What Evo issue should I be looking for? Did I already miss it, or is it not on sale yet in the States?
