Track day tyre
Just got a second set of wheels so looking to put a set of more track orientated tyres on them. Have been running Bridgestone S02 but great chunks were coming off last time out.
Plan to do 2 days at Spa in March so these tyres will need to drive me there (wet roads?) then do two days at the track (could easily also be wet). Therefore thinking more Yoko AD08 or Toyo R1R than Toyo 888 or Michelin cup sport.
17 inch wheels 7 front, 9 rear.
Standard 964 C2 coupe with Bilstein pss10
Thoughts and experiences welcome.

Michelin cup is quite hard to get them in 17'
The Yoko AD08 is said to be as fast as the Toyo888... I bougth a set of KU36 kumho´s because they cost half, compared with the Yoko´s....

Im in the same boat. Ive shortlisted Trofeo R. MPSS, 888, and A048. From what i can find, the trofeo are the best but dont last, the MPSS the hardest wearing. The toyos would be a great middle ground perhaps?

the strategy from the tyre manufactures are quite hard to understood.
The yoko AD08 isn´t available in germany. Workaround is an order in UK. They´ve the same legaliziation E-Number that is needed for german roads.
The RA1 isn´t available in germany, too.
I know, that the kumho isn´t a real track-tyre, but for my approach with fast BAB driving and doing some cornering in the alps, the tyre should be undemanding.
regards

Many thanks for all the advice. Looks like the majority vote is AD08 and given the March Spa trip the comments ref decent in the wet are reassuring. Last thing I want to do are either fall off the road on the way there or lack the confidence to do many laps should it chuck it down for the weekend at Spa. Could always be dry and sunny of course
