Default Black wheel test (rubber paint test)

I've always wondered how my car would look with black rims...

With clean wheels and a couple cans of rubber spray paint I painted one side.
Wow, my cute little classic just got mean. Not sure I like the look...
Like my vinyl wrapped lights, I can peel it back to stock in a matter of minutes.

I also installed a Fabspeed Cat-bypass. Very happy with that upgrade.

After a weekend of driving I rolled past a car wash and into the garage without a thought to giving it a bath...
There's something so right about a dirty Porsche with black wheels

At this point I only had time to paint one side. This allowed me to compare the look before completeling both sides.

Also painted the headlight rings. Factory racing look, and as a plus, it's great stone chip protection for the rings.

If this is plastidip, try the gray metallizer over top, might look good with the color of your car.

I usually not a fan of a totally black wheel but I think it looks great on your car. I'd say go for a nice satin black and paint the mirrors and headlight rings to match.

Good call. I also ordered a can of gold metalizer...
I'll give the black "look" some time then go GOLD...then peel the whole thing off.

Looks so good! How do you peel it off? I want to do this to my black/black '94 C2! I'm not sure mine will look as good as your dark grey metallic paint! Great look! The look is very masculine! Cheers!

Should google/youtube plastidip. Its a very versatile tool. Good for badges and everything really.

Did this to my wheels a few months back now and it's still holding up well. These wheels will become my winter set so they'll have a little extra protection as well.Plasti-dip is a great idea just to see if you like the look of a colour...or color!
Andy.

It will look very, very mean on a black car. Add a couple layers of gold metallic and you'll have this look... (image at bottom of post)

Mine are 17s (with no spacers). Given the spoke design, 18's would look huge. People ask if these are 18's.

Front - 17 x 7.5 / 52mm offset
Rear - 17 x 9 / 47mm offset

5mm spacers would be nice...

Not soon enough... hoping the black wheels help camouflage it a bit?
It's driving and sounding really nice with that new cat-bypass! Monster of a car...

Looks great! I did the same thing a few weeks ago to my scuffed up Cup 1 track wheels, but I haven't had time to put them on my car. Maybe this weekend...
