Default Have a 1994 964 Speedster- anyone have a clue as to what it's worth?

Black on yellow accents, tiptronic, approx 13,000 miles, stock car, excellent condition.

anyone have an idea as to a general value of the car? hard to find as there aren't many comparables.

thanks for any input you may have.

The tip hurts the price significantly in my opinion. The low mileage helps offset that though.

I'd say around $60-$70K.

I dont see how a TIP can significantly hurt a car that is only been driven 1200 miles a year. Believe it or not there are a few people that like driving a TIP thus it could be a plus by some buyers.

Most people looking for an air-cooled Porsche want a manual in a sports car. That's just a fact.

Unless they are old, a woman, or have some injury that makes shifting/clutch difficult. Those folks would consider a tip a plus. Unfortunately, the old, infirm and women usually aren't in the market for cars such as these.

That's why a tip hurts the price

The 94 Speedster market is very, very limited. Add in a Tip, and the reasons above...and all the other high performance vehicles with automatic transmissions that are NOT 18 year old cars to choose from in the price range.
I'd say its 50K tops. Not trying to insult, I think a 94 Speedster is a great car.
Keep it and drive it !

well I am not old. a woman or have an injury and I only looked to buy a TIP because i dont feel like holding a clutch in with traffic as bad as it is. If i want to shift gears I drive the Turbo. Your analogy respectfully is FOS.

I said most, not all!

I forgot to add 'lazy' to my list

Anyway, it matters not. A significant majority of people who are buying an air-cooled 911 are looking for the sports car experience, and that means a manual. Whether one likes it or not, having a tip on a air-cooled Porsche is a detriment to most buyers. You don't need to believe me, the market proves it to be true, as tips command a lesser price than manuals in otherwise similar air-cooled 911s

Jim, curious...if you had just one pcar would it be a tip? In regards to the speedster, does anyone really "drive" them anyway (no offense to anyone)?

Right. Who's going to daily drive a near-zero mileage '94 Speedster? I also think at this mileage the fact that it's a tip doesn't matter too much. The car will just become part of a collection--a place to park money.

Can't believe no one has asked which seats the car has?

Smile a tip'sters opinion

hi,
i have a tip,and i got offered more for mine than a friend who has a 964 manual(he wasn't old, lazy nor ignorant),
yes the stereotype sports car comes with a manual but a tip can surprise you if used properly. i think its a personal preference thing,
and if i had the choice, my next 964 will be a tip too.
my 2 c.
