Default Best Scantool/Dianostic Tool for the money?

I searched here and the interwebz and can't find a decent answer. A lot of the information is old as well.

I'd love to own a Hammer but don't think finding one would be easy and don't want to spend more than I need to.

Advice?

The chaps from The Netherlands at 928-ECU-repair sell their PDT999 handheld tool, which is a modern equivalent.

Not cheap, but about half the going rate of an old Bosch KTS 301.

Their website here:

Their shop here:

No affiliation...

Durametric has done everything I asked it to but idle adaptaions.

the PDT999 is supposed to be a pretty good device.

Makmov - Can the Durametric do C4 lock bleeds? I've used the PDT999 and it works very well. I have a Scantool which works well except it can't do the C4 locks.

If you own a C4 and wrench yourself the PDT999 is an amazing tool. Hammer equivalent. Simple to use and handheld. I love mine.

the idle adaptation is the most critical requirement.

so you're basically saying it is useless waste of money then.

as far as I know there wasn't even an idle adaptation when the cars first came out.

How critical could it have been.

In any event, would love to have one but a hammer which isn't supported any longer is 3k, the 999 is 750 800 and the Durametric was 359 and does everything else.

So I wouldn't say it's a waste of money.
