I'm going to piggyback on the OP. I am also looking for my first Porsche. I posted over on the 911 forum that I am looking for an older targa but am unsure about what year/iteration I want. Based on my brief research, the 964's are attractive for 2 reasons.
1. They are the newest of the old-style targas.
2. They have a retractable spoiler, and I really don't like the look of the fixed whale tail spoiler that you seen on so many of the cars from the 80's.
Is $20K a reasonable budget to find a good quality 964 targa. If not, how much higher would I have to go?
