i find it hard to believe that backing off from full-lock by a couple of mm can really cause that many problems with parking. the difference in turning circle is minimal.

if the tyre rubs for a few seconds, it is not like the tyre is going to explode into pieces .. sure it is not ideal but the contact is not a sharp razor edge .. it is just a flat smooth surface so it wont be the end of the world.

if you have other rubbing not only at full lock, then it must be somewhere else. suggest you put on some old jeans and take a closer look.

Perhaps the offset is a big higher then initially thought and this is why, but I can't think of some of other reason for why its rubbing on both sides other then the early 964's being sensitive to this sort of issue. Il try to turn the wheel and see after how much does turning does it make contact and make my decision there.

I'm surprised you don't rub with 235's sml.

Just saw that apparently 7mm is the smallest spacer and I'l need to change out the studs, is that difficult of a job?

 

8ET50 with 235 and -2 neg camber does rub on full-lock .. but it is easy to back-off from full lock by a couple of mm, so it is non-issue for me.

 

It's my understanding that 7 millimeters do not require longer studs.

 

The wheel specs were basically from what the owner told me he remembered he ordered, lets say hypotheically the fronts aren't 8's but 8.5's, does that make more sense for it rubbing or still iffy.

is it really limiting your turning circle? i didnt feel that my 8ET50 was rubbing more than a few mm, hence there was no real impact ... but perhaps the impact is more for you?
