all prices from Pelican, page 1 or 2 from the engine section: Pelican engine parts section
try Sunset prices. Last couple parts I bought were a lot cheaper than Pelican. I replaced the rubber part for air on top of the fan a couple weeks ago and it was $30 less at Sunset and fit perfect.

for close to $750 if I did both sides, I'll for sure call around. The prices did not include a new chain. Should I bother, or are the chains bulletproof?

Probably wont ever break a chain but they do stretch out causing the cam timing to go out of ideal spec.

If it was me I would just do the chains too.

I like to do things once so I DRIFT.

now... how much undertray should I run with? I have it ALL off right now, and the 2nd piece from the back (that covers the transmission) was cracked and is now in 2 pieces.

The tray was for euro noise abatement and aero under the car.
You are probably fine running whatcha running

If you wanted to put the tranny cover on that would be okay as long as it's not fluttering around

I have no trays in the back on mine and have seem to have had any problems running that way, and I have done a long sweeper at 120+

It got a little wiggley in middle with the old stock suspension. Like glue with Bilsteins and H&Rs lowered, so I guess the little pop up wing is enough.

I could see people a head of me looking in the review mirror thinking there was going to be a huge crash when the seen me coming that fast and just got out of the way.

I have the trans tunnel/shifter area covered, but nothing else. Will I see a 10hp butt dyno gain?

I don't believe that it's too easy to replace the chains as the one set of gears are in the casing. Also, when I did my rebuild, the curved rails were worn to the point of warranting replacement, however the flat rails didn't show enough to replace them.

You will need to retime the cams if you replace the rails, and that will pick up any chain stretch that occurred.
