Rennlisters,,, day out in the lakes?
Hi, as we all like a day out and looking and talking and driving our cars,
I was wondering would many people like a trip to the lakes for the day?
I was thinking we could meet up on the M6 at a services at a set time and then drive to Holker hall,,
Holker Hall & Gardens
Cark-in-Cartmel
Grange-over-Sands
Cumbria
LA11 7PL pasted from their web site,,,have a look.
I have spoke to the people who run the hall and if we get ten people or more they'll do a group discount, so that should be no more than £8 a head and we'll have a special area to park-in.
The motor museum works on the discount of twenty people or more but £6.25 per head if we get the numbers, I have just spoke with them and again we'll have a area of our own for parking.
The museum is conveniently located adjacent to the Lake District's arterial A590, between Newby Bridge and Haverthwaite, only 20 minutes drive from J36, M6 and Central Lakes (Bowness), via the A592. Sat Nav, LA12 8TA. Please follow white on brown tourism signs. FREE PARKING
again from their web site,,, have a look
So a nice day out,,,, £14.25 per head,, you'll pay the places direct NOT ME!!!
So drive, chat, eat take photo's and get a cheaper than joe public day out, around two great places.
All are welcome,, I'll talk to anyone and lets enjoy the cars together .
Please remember I'm doing this off my own back and it's me just trying to have some fun............ any one else want to arrange a day out..
GAZ,,,,
Good idea or bad,,, let me know......... please google holker hall and see it's a lovely place to go and the drive would be more flowing for the cars.
Gaz,,,,,,,,,,, trying my best...................

I'll come along if I can. I can't get along to many of these day outs because most of my annual mileage (insurance restricted) gets used up by trackdays. Spa on its own used up 1300 of the 5000. So I might have to come along in the boxster and get a 'My other car is a 911' sticker.

I think I will have to pass on that one, Gaz.
Going on holiday very shortly after - my 964 will be having its pre-hol pampering.
No problem though: we can't all do everything. Have a good one, take lots of pics, and roll on the next one. :-)

Okay. Put me down as a probable.
From experience, Gaz, you can't ever find a date that suits everyone, so don't worry too much or think you picked the wrong date. Best to get one picked and stick with it unless it looks like nobody is coming at all. :-)

Gaz, I wish you hadn't changed the date for this - I can't make the 20th May as I'm fishing at Lake Vyrnwy that day but the 27th would have been ideal- Bugger!! Hope you have a great day out and I'll see you sometime soon. Maybe at the North Wales run on 13th May or a later North west run? Brian.

Good looks like I won't be going by myself! Will plan the services and meeting times over the next couple of days. Sorry if the date doesn't suit some people but if people enjoy this I know lots of places to go in our cars on the next run. Gaz
