Vandit,

I removed all of my exhaust components and the both side tins.

Is the only thing holding the rear tin in place the two bolts that you have to get at from inside the engine compartment? I got the right one out but can not get to the left side bolt.

Also, I am going to be replacing my motor mounts. Would the rear tin come off when I remove the engine carrier?

Thanks in advance,
Steve

It's funny you ask about removing the rear tin because I was having a similar discussion w/ someone on Pelican on this topic. What I learned is I believe my car is missing a couple of those 10mm head fasteners for the rear tin.

The rear tin is attached at the sides to the side tins, from the top around the belt area where it bolts to the a/c compressor bracket, and to the engine carrier on a couple of bolts between the tin and carrier that fasten to a shelf on the carrier. You can see the mounting point on the carrier in *this photo*. Those fasteners were missing on my car and I didn't realize it until recently. It'll probably stay that way.

Vandit,

Thanks for the quick response.

I got the side tins off but there were two bolts that went through from the engine compartment through the rear tin into the engine carrier.

I got the right one off but can not get access to the left one.

I will just put a jack stand under the engine and remove the motor mounts and then the bolt that hold the carrier to the engine. I think this will allow me to remove the carrier with the rear tin.

Thanks again,
Steve
