Default Plasti Dip your wheels ?

Ran across this in the Audi forum. For those who want to see what thier wheels would look like painted you can use this stuff and peal it off if you do not like it.

apperently people are doing thier whole cars in this stuff.

don't think I would do it for the long run but might be an interesting alternative to photoshopping.

Interesting...I was thinking about using a wrap on my daily driver. This would be a cheaper route. Has anyone seen a car up close that had this stuff on it?

I would consider doing my hood/bumper in it... as its got a lot of road rash already. Get that sexy matte black look for cheap.

I'm going to do my 996 wheels this weekend. I'm going to spray the black then the gloss. We'll see what happens. I was going to paint them black with a silver lip, but they will get replaced soon and I don't want to make the effort.

I'll post pictures as I go.

My wheels have been "dipped" for over a year. I love the stuff. It really changes the look of the car car for little money, and it just peels off when you don't want it anymore. Now it's available in bronze, gun metal, and other finishes. (no affil)

Plus I haven't cleaned the wheels in months, they get just a quick hose off now and always look perfect. I can't imagine how much wheel cleaning time I've saved...

It's bug season around here, and Plastidip makes the perfect temporary bra too!!

Did you do the inside and outside of the wheels?

I'm probably going to do the headlight trim rings too.

I didn't take the wheels off when I coated the wheels...brake dust has taken care of the inside of the rim barrels.

+1 on the headlight rings. Great paint protection.

I'm in too; did mine right before fitting them for warmer weather. March, maybe? No issues and def no regrets. While I did do some of the inner rim from the rear, I didn't mask the tires at all. Know what? Looks great, can't tell, kinda looks like matte tire dressing (without the sling). If you like the look at all I recommend it.

May do the whole car; be fun to go from black to ORANGE!* all of a sudden and for just a while.

(or mebbe GRRREEEEEEEN!!)
