Why wouldn't you use it as a dd? Porsche designed a great 911 in the 964. These cars are meant to be driven.

I know 911a is a great car but im asking as far as the 964, who uses it daily, what sorts of issues if any come up, etc. I want to use ut 365 days a year.

I drive my 92 as a daily driver. It has 150k on it and the engine and gearbox have not been opened up. With the 964, Porsche finally made a car you can really use every day. Good power steering, good heating and more importantly air conditioning. The one thing I would say is an issue is when converting a pre93 from R12 to R134, the 134 doesn't like to stay in for more than a season. I charge mine every year and it blows cold. The other issue is the road noise if you travel on the highway a lot. I can barely hear my cell phone with the ear piece due to the noise. Most of the noise comes from the rear trailing arm attach points which is one major advantage of the 993 chassis ove the 964...it is much quieter.

Other than those things, the 964 is a great DD, good in the rain, Ok in the snow with proper snow tires. I prefer the 92 and later, and prefer one with aftermarket progressive springs on it.

Default Daily driver for three years

Oil change about once per year.. Valve setting about once per year... Tune up once in three years.... on slippery slope with mods... do not go there... it is addictive... do not watch this site.... you will want the same things...they are all mostly worth it (cat bypass, cup primary, shock upgrade (mine are waiting to be installed)... every great once in a while you might have electrical gremlins (dead battery after leaving parked for 3-4 days) so drive it everyday.... she likes it

Don't hesitate... They become more relaible with use as long as you keep maintenence up.

I use a 93 C4 on daily basis and wouldn't want anything else.

I used to use mine as a daily driver, but then I changed jobs and now I schlep it on the train

It was a great car to commute in, hardcore enough to be fun, but also comfy with a/c when you needed it to be. And any long day at the office, always seems worth it when you walk to the carpark and see your 964 there waiting for you

... in Holland with gas prices now equivalent to 8 usd per gallon, the fun is less.... but the 964 is great , mine did 260.000 km (180k miles) and no oil usage to mention !
