Default Group Buy: TechArt Splitter - NO GO :(

I tried going down the cheaper root and the resulting splitter is just a very bad fit and not great quality...

I'm after the TechArt three piece splitter, I know other companies i.e. Rennspeed, FVD, etc. do similar items - I'm after the TechArt one. Having said that, search results show that at one stage Hong Kong eBay sold an exact replica TechArt item that apparently were of a very high quality. Now ofcourse there is the option of doing a group buy from TechArt themselves to help lower the price - If others are interested?

If you have any leads - pls let me know.

Cheers,

That TechArt replica from HK was not very good... it was in fiberglass and required a lot of work to fit... I sent it back to them and got my money back (lost the shipping charge). They were using pictures of the real thing picked up on the net for advertising.Count me in for a group buy if planned.

Interesting - thanks for the insight. Can anyone chime in and tell how easy/ hard it is to install the TechArt item?

Right so that's 2, any other takers?

Since the copy I saw was based on the real thing I can tell you that all it takes is removal of bottom flat pieces from center and side sections of front fender / bumper area and installation of TechArt pieces in the very spots with original mounting points - 10-15 minute job.

Just spoke to ' Tech9 ' UK distributer, I'm told that if we get 10+ we can get an estimated 20% discount if not more if we really get the number up...

Norman price £380. Bulk buy based on 10: £304. Prices are circa at the moment - we'll get firmer numbers when we get the numbers.

Question: If you adding the front splitter do you also need to add the rear wing?

Could the group buy include a front splitter for the wide-body?

As far as my understanding the TechArt item is made of hard plastic as opposed to thin fibre glass and is thus much more robust. I also seems to be a straight bolt on solution that does note require reshaping, cutting, bonding etc...

No. Some will tell you it will upset the aerodynamics of the car - however people all over have done this mod without it being an issue.

If we were competition drivers it would be something to consider. You in?

I'm not sure I'm feeling the 'love' for the splitter from TechArt... would prefer the Cargraphic version but it costs more (€470 approx £400)

Gotta agree, Cargraphic is more appealing to me.
