I know! Being garaged seems to make a big difference. I also have 11 years no-claims. Even after I moved last year to a house with a drive, my policy stayed the same; benefit was soaked up by the general price hike.

Just to stick to the thread title, I have declared all modifications; anything that has been added, even if it is a genuine Porsche option, such as the Clubsport steering wheel. Adds to the total, but I wouldn't want to be declined on a payout for not declaring something.

Time666 - that is amazingly low. My 64 year old mum in her 1.4 clio is nearly half that!

Norton Heritage, everything declared. LSD, RS ARB, Exhaust, Cat, Wheels, Seats, RS carpet, you get the picture. guaranteed valuation of £20k, limited mileage of only 1500 though, European breakdown cover costs £415/yr.

great thread this...i need to renew my insurance in July and will be looking for decently priced cover with the car parked on my drive. I am pretty sure Classicline wont cover it if not garaged. I think my current cover with classic line for 5k miles/garages/euro and UK breakdown cover/5 trackdays a year is about £260 p.a

I will call all those suggested here and see what comes back.

I concur - they covered me with my modified 964T, parked on driveway, and include trackdays. Only been covered this year and never had to make a claim.

Randomly, I bought the policy through Bridle but when it came through the post its from Competition. Next year I will try them direct.

£600~ with adrian flux...3k miles, social only, garaged, all mods declared including 3.8 & motec, value of 35k. Can every else also add their mods as some seem too cheap and may reflect near standard spec?

+1.

Mine is a shade under £850 with adrian flux, 3k miles, social only, garaged, all mods declared, agreed value of 45k. In my experience, the agreed value and your postcode are key elements probably more than the nature of the mods - you need to disclose the mods to keep your coverage and they increase the premium, but having discussed my mods in detail with the insurers I didn't feel like they were differentiating much between my aluminium bonnet and the fact I'd remapped my engine in coming up with their pricing. It didn't seem like they tallied up everything in a particularly scientific way, they just typed "modified" in their computer and my premium shot up. Not sure if others had the same experience.

On the postcode lottery, I live in St Johns Hill in Battersea, I've been told that if I lived literally across the street (say 100 metres) in Wandsworth (SW18 instead of SW11 postcode) my insurance would be over £100p.a. lower.

I'd also mention that mine is a PS Autoart car so it has a LOT of mods on it. So there is a £250 difference between me and mf_rsr and you can tally up say £100 of that to the fact that I live in a crappy neighborhood (for insurance purposes only that is...), that leaves only £150/year for the extra 10k in my agreed value PLUS the additional mods...

Sorry, after +1-ing mf_rsr forgot to list my mods...my car was based on a boggo 1990 C2 mind....

I've got a 3.8RS engine on cup cams with Steve Wong chip and custom H&S sports exhaust from manifolds back, single mass flywheel, limited slip differential, 6-speed from a 993 on a short shifter, 964RS brakes, lowered springs, lightweight RS interior and Recaro seats, impact bumpers removed and replaced with PS Autoart pre-impact-bumper bumpers, aluminium bonnet, engine cover and front fenders, AP design lighting kit, PS Autoart side mirrors, and 17" PS Autoart fuchs-style wheels.

And a kick-*** stereo that has never been turned on

Mine's declared as on the drive (I don't have a garage). No problem with CL.
