Modified car insurance

I think that where you live and the agreed value have much to do with the pricing, as does deductible (mine is £300). I'm easily the most expensive on this thread but am in my 40s and have never had an insurance claim or a point on my licence (knock wood) and keep the car in a locked garage, limited mileage etc. And at least in my experience when I list new mods (the 3.8, SMF, LSD, RS brakes and 6-speed are newer than the rest) the price didn't seem to move much - premium went up by £46 and that could have just been a "normal" annual rise because I disclosed at the same time I renewed in January. Comparing to other people in different post codes with different or no agreed values doesn't really give a proper comparison. I compared several of the places listed on this thread and adrian flux was best for me. That being said, the key is to shop around to get the best price for you and this thread has been useful as there are a couple of new names I'm going to look at next time round.

Ive just renewed, last year I was paying £228.00
Managed to get a quote for £198.00 from Mayfair online, very cheap but wont cover trackdays
So I went with £290.00 from Competition Car Insurance (underwritten by Aviva) which includes up to 5 trackdays with up to 2 abroad and 30 days european cover , all mods declared
Really pleased with that

I'm with Nowell & Richards, £295 + legal cover, 32, garaged, living in West Essex, near Loughton, mods declared and 9 years protected NCB, no points. Renewal time for me too so will check some fit these out...

My cars all come up at the same time and I tried CCI but they wouldn't do the Skylines. In the end I went with Manning UK for the 964 who actually answered the phone, were fairly cheap and included track days (unlimited I think).

Classicline for me, now that I have a garage.
Mods:
Suspension lowered on Bilsteins 40mm.
Strut brace.
Cup pipe.
Interior RS style - door cards and rear seats removed.
Clubsport steering wheel.
£198. 5,000 limted miles. Agreed valuation.

Classicline are good, I still have the Skylines with them, for my postcode they don't require a garage (I have one but only room for one car in it, so I'm never sure which car will be kept on the drive), but they are a little more than you are paying.

Yeah I was pretty unimpressed with CCI when I tried to get a quote from them. Firstly they didn't answer the phone for two whole days of trying and then they didn't return calls. Finally when I spoke to them they said they their underwriters couldn't cover the older Skylines as they weren't a proper sportscar, I should have explained that to the GT3 (badly driven I hasten to add) I was hassling at Silverstone on Monday.
