Next project might be building a twin turbo 3.6l engine like it originally raced with as a GT2 racer in the BPR in 1995...

Here's some video from the shakedown weekend back in June.

I love this car. Love it.

What are your impression of the CAE shifter?

The CAE shifter IS EXCELLENT. Shifts are short, extremely positive, and having the **** positioned that much higher makes any issues with fumbling around a non-issue. I like it a lot.

My point of reference is a G50 shifter in an '87 Carrera.

For those who don't know or can't see clearly in the video, here is what it looks like:

Thank you very much! Not my best driving ever as I was/am still getting used to the car, but I was able to gradually build speed as the weekend progressed. This was close to the end.

Here's a pic from the Sebring Historic Sportscar Racing (HSR) Race before the 12 Hour this past weekend:

When are you putting a 964 nose back on it?

Most likely at the end of the summer. Have to order body panels from DP Motorsport in Germany.

Everyone,

Just wanted to provide an update on the car for anyone who is still interested.

Our 3.9l NA engine suffered a rod failure in 2017 at the HSR race at VIR in June. Following this we decided to bring the car back to it's historical 1995 configuration, including bodywork and engine.

A twin turbo ("biturbo" in the language of the day) engine is being constructed, and original front end bodywork (bumper and fenders) from DP Motorsport has been installed. The car will be attending Rennsport Reunion VI and racing in Class 7 (964 up through modern cars). Here is a picture of the work in progress.
