The trailing arms cleaned up nicely not going to bother blasting/painting them. I would also like to thank Fuch on here for donating his two rear mounts that have half the mileage on them that mine do

Ghengis,
I will bear the plastex in mind when I pull the rest of the sill covers.
The intention was to refurb the spring plates give them a rub down remove the rust and repaint, the drivers side in pretty good condition however the passenger side rubber boot has come adrift from the metal still seems to be plenty grease
inside and the movement/resistance seems similar between the two , ideally it needs replaced ebay here we come because the new price is nuts.

Got the front arm bushes removed today all pretty sytraightforward, followed the guide in the DIY section with the only slight difference being you do not remove the steel inserts to fit the powerflex bushes.
General consensus is that fitting these bushes are a good upgrade however looking at the bushings that came out I see no particular sign of degradation anywhere and remain to be convinced and will probably find it hard to pinpoint individual components as I have practically changed everything on the back.
it can only be good

Got the trailing arms back today with the new wheel bearings fitted £40 cant be bad nice and smooth and quiet luvly, fitted one of the Powerflex bushes tonight all pretty straightforward one thing I noticed is when I cleaned up the inner Key bush I removed all the rubber seals thinking it would push in flush to the plastic bush it doesn`t it sits slightly proud so if your trimming the old rubber leave a ring under the lip (hope that makes sense obvious in the picture) I will run a line of sealant round it when fitted.

The good the bad and the ugly tonight started off giving one of the wheel arches a bit of a clean/paint before fitting the suspension will do the otherside as well it has marks in the arches where big wheels have been fitted at sometime and have been rubbing on both the arch and oil pipe.
The bad was the state of all the bumper stays again not a surprise, I was fortunate enough to get a full set from a rennlister in the states and are in as new condition.
The ugly is the bodge up of filler behind the sharks fin, I was aware of the poor condition of this as there was overspray all over the trailing arm and arch liner and will be sorted out next winter as part of the body refurb.
