Quick question for you Euro guys: What is the going rate for a nice black/black 30-40Km's RS Lightweight (normal I think) in excellent original condition going for these days? We have no point of reference here in the states, other than the US Cups, which seem to be a different animal. TIA

Having looked at quite a few the past year, and bought one (black with 75kmiles at the time) I would budget a good 130-140kEuro for a 30-40km...which is quite low!

Car much better bought on condition rare than mileage. At 30-40kkm over the course of 20years, it's way low, prob not the best for all the rubber parts.

Understood, what would a higher mileage car, all original be worth, excellent condition being equal?

Looking at the usual UK websites you can pick up an RS for anything between £90k - £125k (approx €105k - €140k or $135k - $180k) depending on mileage and condition.
Don't know if the higher valued ones are actually realising there price!

Here's a couple;

English Matt PM sent...

911Thrasher: so in general, would you find a higher mile car more desirable because the seals are well tended, the rubber supple etc, and would you pay about the same or less for it than a lower miles car? Was your 75K miles car priced about the same? Thanks for this info.

Lower mileage RS will always commend more money - if it's straight...no question about that. People love garage queens and museum pieces.

However, a nicely run-in RS, with regular miles added to it (not 1,500 per year, that's garage queen), will in my experience run better. Not only regular usage helps lubricating the engine more often but with regular use comes regular servicing and oil/consummables/seals changed...hence i would think less prone to failure.

Furthermore, people tend to be less worried about adding miles when it is not a garage queen.

When i bought mine, I had a "budget": I went for the best i could afford: the best mechanically and bodywise (i.e. original non modified engine, chassis straight, all original panels), rather than less mileage and not so perfect/clean history.

Good luck in your chase.

Panhorst, Thomas Josef Schmitz are reknown sellers of 964RSs here in Europe - neither sellers are cheap, but they are straight about their provenance and works done to them.
I know Panhorst re-imports quite a few RSs from Japan. Thomas sources most of his cars from Europe.
