Norm hasn't report his white 964 as missing has he?

If not I would say a good buy. How much to strip and repaint, more than 6k surely. Ok engine, gearbox interior, wheels and on and on, but if you started with a 15k car to start, would you be any better off?

I'd be looking into this if I was that dude on 911uk looking to buy that rotten barn find. Would make a nice clubbie rep.

In fact if it was LHD I'd probably be looking to buy it myself

Red 964 J-Reg. Private Sale. <100K miles. Looks nice in the pics, bit of paint here and there makes the panels stand out a bit (driver's door and wing) but it is on the surface a fair price <£20K.

That would be a great way to build a car, that shell plus the extra 1K for the the bodywork he has. Then just look around for a rotten donor, as it'll only be the engine/tranny and suspension metalwork you'd need. All shockers, bushes and rubbers would be replaced regardless of where you started. I'd bet it works out less expensive than paying 20-25K for a good car and then refurbing that. Given the condition and pretreatment of that shell I recon its a bargin. I would be all over that if it were 12 months ago. Hmmm maybe next time round

The pics are not great quality so perhaps I am mistaken but I think there are serious signs of rust on at least one rear wing panel, might be that both need replacing... if so there will likely be other rust too.

Could be worth it given this is the rare 2L model.

Was bored and spoke to owner, it s a C4 by the way..
There is no bubbling, just pics look that way. No visible rust. Has had top end done at Unit 11. Nice guy. Sounds like a good C4 for the money.

These were on before Christmas and "sold" for ~£2,500 so something fishy I would suggest. Seller in remote location, would be a risk to commit to buy and collect and sheer madness to hand over money beforehand.

EDIT £3,300 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Po...item2585f9800f

Another set for $7.5k

It had gone by the time I'd had a chance to enquire about it, and anyway, where's the fun in taking the easy way out

I truly think you're getting yourself into a world of pain.

If I may be so crude, what's your restoration budget and the cost of the car?

Does he still have the panels for sale bud, if he sold the shell? For £1k those may save you a few quid?

Most of all enjoy the project
