Default Chain cover question

I will be removing my right side chain cover. It was recently off--within the last year.

I am replacing the gasket.

Can I re use the rubber o-rings/grommets & the nuts?

Additional questions below--please scroll down :-)

It appears Porsche has discontinued the right side gasket and only supplies the left side--to be used on both sides.

Some have had an issue with this and others have not.

Interested as well in any tips / tricks for a sure seal on the rt. side?

Also, Pelican has a SSF kit with gaskets, nuts, etc., OE gasket, & Genuine Porsche gasket.

It appears they offer three different suppliers for the chain gasket?

Which gasket would be recommended based on experience?

OEM+Hylomar? No direct experience, but credit the factory with generally knowing their business and Hylomar's been around almost forever.

Any tips on using the Hylomar for this application? Do I apply it on the cover side or on the motor side of the gasket? Or both?

"Hylomar Universal Blue should be applied to clean dry surfaces. Apply a thin film or bead to one or both surfaces. Once applied, sufficient time should be allowed for the solvent to evaporate. Unlimited assembly time allows precise alignment of joints to be made. Due to the nature of the compound, fasteners may be required to be re-tightened to the correct torque."

I googled for the instructions and found that...

With all due respect--you have no direct experience (mentioned above) but you are recomending a silicone bead combined with the factory gasket.

I have read several threads that have mentioned that silicone was applied to their gaskets/chain box and they have leaked--without silicone no issues with leaks.

What is the correct procedure?

No, I'm not. Hylomar info.

"Typical applications include water & oil pumps, instrument inspection covers, cylinder heads, oil sumps, intake manifolds, timing case covers, gearbox & transmission housings and as a coating for pre-formed gaskets. " (Emphasis mine.)
