Thanks to RocketRob for tipping me off on adding a filtration system to my parts washer.

each in the morning
1.82
each 1.82
2 5288K12 Choose-A-Color Hose for Push-on Fitting, Buna-N, 3/8" ID X 5/8" OD, 250 PSI, Red 5ft
feet in the morning
1.36
per foot 6.80
3 5372K323 Durable Nylon Multi-Barbed Tube Fitting, 90 Degree Elbow for 3/8" Tube ID X 1/2" NPT Male Pipe, packs of 10 Qty 1

per pack 5.36
Plus you need to get 1/4' NPT male to female elbow, too expensive at McMaster so I bought one at local hardware store.
This order does not include the hose clamps, I already own an Oetiker crimp tool and had some crimps so I used those for the hose clamps. Zip ties I think would work because this is such low pressure.
Use a 0.75" hole cutter for the bulk head fittings.
I ordered this filter base, $13.95 from Summit Racing which works with the McMaster hardware: TRD-1028 FILTER BASE

Yeah, totally, in the photo is the Fram "Race Filter" which I got when I placed the order from Summit Racing for the oil filter adapter. I think "Race Filter" means it filters nothing and it is high throughput. I know it is capturing larger particles but it didn't do anything to clear up the degreaser in the washer.
I need the super low throughput heavy filtering version! RocketRob suggested PH-8A which is their "tough guard" series but I have to see what else works. Napa gold brand or something.

Fuel filter could work as well. I am still searching for better filtration, something to really clean my degreasing fluid back to a clear color.

I was thinking the same thing. You can get truck fuel filters that look like car oil filters, and I would have thought that it would be better for the sort of flow involved with a parts cleaner. I mean, in theory a fuel filter removes water from the gas passing through, right?

I still need better filtration on this setup. I having been cleaning a lot of parts my cleaner fluid is just getting darker and darker. I need to figure out how to get a fuel filter installed or find a better oil filter.

Ricardo - If you want to make a simple change, try a different filter. Fram's HP1 is the least restrictive filter of that size. If you want to catch more, try these in order of least to highest filtration. All are the same external size. I'm currently running the Extra Guard version but have a TG version to try next.
Fram HP1
Fram PH8A
Fram Extra Guard PH8A
Fram Tough Guard PH8A

Ricardo - I installed the filter yesterday on my parts washer. I'm getting a small seep on the lower brass pass through. Did you install a rubber washer, o-ring or use any sealant? I didn't see it mentioned it your original post but thought I would ask. I'm thinking of trying either a rubber washer or some Permatex RTV designed for oils.
Edit: I did some research regular rubber doesn't do well being in constant contact with solvent (naphtha). Viton is recommended. Not sure where I could get that readily today so I decided to try a gasoline resistant gasket sealer. I found Loctite Gasket Sealant #1 at my local auto parts store. I will let it sit over night before refilling the washer with solvent.
No affiliations.

None of my fittings are under the sealant level "waterline" so I didn't have to tackle that challenge.
An O-ring should work. Its very little pressure.

Also, I switched to the Tough Guard PH8A filter and that seems to work much better. I am using Simple Green PRO HD heavy duty cleaner. Purple stuff available at Home Depot. Its safe for aluminum. Its been working great. I just use a bunch of different brushes and can get everything clean.
