It improves both. At least vs having no spoiler whatsoever. The ducktail still produces a high pressure area at the base of the windshield which forces air into the engine compartment. IIRC, the ducktail sits dead between having no spoiler and the 3.3 turbo spoiler as far as reducing lift in lbs.

A part of me wants to believe that Porsche went with a motorized unit as a compromise; Not everyone likes the ducktail, but everyone does like the iconic smooth-sweeping rear. A compromise rooted in performance/cooling vs sales.

Speaking of duck tails, I think I'm going to sell mine, I bought it about 8 months ago and haven't done nothing with it..

Opo, first you advertised the Turbo S spoiler for sale and now you say you may also sell the ducktail. I would buy both spoilers if I lived near you. I do have an uncle in Dallas...
