Default Lubricating spoiler gears

Hi all;

I was going to try some "white lithium grease spray" on my spoiler mechanism gears - has anyone used this stuff for anything?

Apparently it goes on as a spray, then sets as grease...

I don't like that product in that area; it stays sticky and will collect dirt.

Can you get this?

Are you experiencing a problem w/ the mechanism or is it just something you want to do?

Thanks gentleman;

My spoiler mechanism quit working some weeks ago.

(It was recently fixed coincidentally when I replaced the cabin mounted rotary switch for cosmetic purposes.)

Whilst I was poking around trying to find the cause of the problem, I did note that the spoiler gears seem very stiff and require a lot of torque via the drive-shaft to get them moving. Hence I thought to lubricate the mechanism.

FC, not sure if I can source the DuPont stuff locally, but I will have a hunt around.

A broken worm gear bearing perhaps?
Here's how to fix it.
Cheers,

I use the white lithium in the cable housing... But that is somewhat sealed.

Foor the gears I use silicone spray since there are no rubber parts in that area. I lubricate it every 3 months when I wax the car.

Working fine this far
