Another option for suspension is Koni adjustable shocks and H&R reds. I loved that set up on my car.

On the brakes, did you pull the caliper slide plates, and clean the crap out from under them? Would hate to have you have hanging brake pads after you were done. That is very similar to how my first brake job started. Good luck, it will be well worth it when you are done.

Good for you to take on such a big project.

But am I the only one having kittens while looking at the Jenga jackstands in the first picture?!?

You're not the only one.

Stephane-
Everyone has their own favorite ice cream. But, think through this if you drop the idea of the second 964 - roll the funds into the first car then I would say that you wan to go with fully adjustable shocks - get the settings right for the track and then change back to the street setting for a nicer street ride.
You can even adjust the ride height. All this is important if you are playing several games with one car - (this is what I do)
FYI - I had my calipers powder coated and was really please with the job/results

I just got off the phone with Weiner. We will be installing a new Motion Control/ERP suspension in mine.

This season I ran PSS10s and both of us were discussing how tremendously capable they actually are. I heartly can recommend them for a dual use car.

OTH, Chris Tallon runs the KW adjustable system and is impressed with them. Chris is a superb driver and I trust his opinion without question.

I do think the PSS10s would be far easier to "dial in" in a dual use car.

Yup.... KWV3. Love them. I will admit that it is easier to adjust the bump & rebound on the PSS10's, but for the savings I chose the KW's. I also saved $1,250 by doing the install myself. I would buget 15 hours (no snickering) for the job, but well worth the education and understanding.

Kai, thanks for the kind words buddy, but the truth is it simply takes time behind the wheel, as you well know. What is it Kai, 15 track days in 3 months for you?!!! That's what I'm talking about!

Thanks Stig for the support, no worries about the Jengas, it is much more sturdy this way with solid 4x6 blocs than those ratly jack stands. I had the car up 18" and the stands were a bit wiggly,... I wouldn't crawl under it with my son, but this set up was tested with a solid lateral push and front to back as well,.... no movement at all.

I spent most of the afternoon packing Dan's wheels, so the CUP 1s are going to Colorado.

I have basketball duty tonight, so no playing under the car.

Haven't counted Chris, but I'll wager close to 50 in the past 4.5 months.

Brake pads, tires and oil pass through here on a regular basis.

But....I won a few DE trophies!!!!

FWIW - There's a used set of PSS10s for sale on Pelican for about $2200.

Sorry to keep contributing to derailing this "brake job" thread but if I want to do 90% street and 10% DE events should I just do option 1 or is it worth the money to go to option 4 to get the adjustability? Will I be wishing I had gone with 4 or 5 after my 3rd track event or be pissed that I had gone with 4 or 5 because street driving is like riding on a skateboard?

1) Bilstein HD = $1100
2) H&R Coilover = $1800
3) KW V1 coilover = $2200
4) KW V3 coilover = $2700
5) PSS10 coilover = $2950

Oh and thanks Stephane for getting my wheels ready to ship! I know that's probably the last thing you wanted to mess with right now!
