Here is the real deal, as inspired by this thread! Special thanks to Utah914 for all of the fine P-shopping!
We were just screwing around with the tail piece. What do you think? I'm thinking about taking that part off and replacing with a "Carrera 2" badge painted orange. The back needs some color...

I agree, I have the same car, same color, same wheels, same calipers,... and I went with silver based also on this tread. I also believe that the black Carrera script is really hard to se on midnight blue so I went with a Silver script from a 993.

@SML,
The Carrera script on my car is basically the same "font" as the on decklid of the 3.2 Carrera, the 964 Carrera, and the 993 Carrera (the 993 rear emblem is a bit smaller, but the same script).
The script you have is the 996/997 script from 1999-2009. You can tell from the open-topped a's. They used a similar font on the Boxster, Cayman and Cayenne. I'm not even sure if Porsche ever made a factory Carrera stripe for the 996/997 cars...did they, or were they all aftermarket?
On the 964, I prefer the "air-cooled" stripe! LOL But to each his own.
