Making good progress. I'm in the process of rebuilding my engine too. Keep the pictures coming.

This is great for us "would be" home motor re-builders. "Would be" meaning, at least in my case, no huevos to tackle such a job. You are a good man! Thanks for sharing your process.

Thanks for the encouragement. I admit, it seems a little intimidating and everyday I think about what I've done BUT then everyday I get deeper into it and realize there is no turning back even if I wanted too.

Definitely, one of the first things I put on my list. It looked horrible and torn.

That father-in-law "help" is dangerous, I totally understand, if you are the one responsible to put it back together, photographs and the memory of doing it yourself is helpful. Better to know how things come apart first before you start getting out the "bigger hammer" to pry things off.

Yeah I love the man to death, but I wish he would let me go at my pace. Take things slow so I can learn as I go.

Bet he loves you (or at least his daughter) to death as well, on the other hand I bet he also loves actually making money in the process of working on cars and therefore wants to be done with yours as quickly as possible.

I'd be grateful to be helped out by someone with such resources and experience and try my hardest to adept any learning ambition to the way he chooses to throw his help at you...my 2C.

Enjoy the ride, don't forget to have fun!!!

Oh yes, I am more than grateful and understand that this is his business and how he earns a living. He has helped me save money on so many other occasions with my other cars.

Default Day Four

Well today I decided to take off the rest of the hoses and wiring and fuel items off the top of the motor. Fuel rails, intake, clutch etc.

Sorry about the out of focus pics in the beginning, camera trouble.

Default Day Four - Timing Chain and Valve Covers

Also took off the timing chain and valve cover. One thing that I did forget to do was drain the oil from the motor before the teardown, something to remember for next time.

Default Day Four - Clutch and Flywheel

And finally removed the clutch and flywheel - definitely going to look into the LWF, but right now my clutch still looks good. Should I replace now or later??

Also noticed this little bit of wetness around the bottom of the seal and running down the case but could not find a crack anywhere in the case like I was previously told.
