Default Wheel refurb opinions

Guys,

Im going to have my RH Turbo P split rims re-furbed so that they're fresh for next year

Only problem is im un-decided on the finish. At the moment I have polished lips and silver painted centres and barrels. A poster on ED38 in the UK has just had the following finish on his 3.6 turbo split rims, and it looks cracking! He's got them fitted to a MKV Golf.

Do you think I get away with it, or is it a bit flashy for the 964?

Chris

Here's the existing finish BTW. They look better on the photo and are in need of a re-paint and freshen up!

Well, they look pretty good as they are, but I think the polished ones in your first post are great! Not too flashy at all especially on a red 964.
If you do your own like that they'll take a bit of looking after, but from the look of the rest of your car, I guess that won't be too much of a problem for you. Do it!

I'm 180* from the above response (but you know what they say about opinions... ).

Thanks both of you

My wheel lips are polished at the mo, so the new finish shouldn't take any more time to clean if that helps

Anyone else as we're 50/50 here lol!

Look real good in both pics.

Your current finish is far more in keeping with the 964 IMO

Its a Porsche, not a Cadillac

I like the all-polished look as seen in some of Dr. Knauf's photos...

Hmm, for me its crackle for engine finishes not for wheels

This is looking 50 / 50 still

I wonder what polished rims, silver centres and polished bolts would look like?
