Dialed 964 or stock RS America (w/ sunroof)

RSA -> more exclusive, will hold value better
It is hard to demand a premium for options / upgrades on a car. With the right buyer this could work, but most people will use it as a negitiation point.

What do you intend to use the car for? Will you keep it stock (reverseable), or head down the slippery slope?
Track plans?
Things do change, trust me. I paid a premium for a fine (very fine) RSA which no longer resembles its former self, the only thing left is the steering rack, and it may go also.

This is more theoretical, I have a dialed 92 C2 and have close to 40K into it. I would not trade it for a stock RSA at this point ( not that I don't like RSAs). Just wondering if I am alone in my thinking.

What are you plans for the car (mods and usage), what is your timeframe?
If you're in it long-term, looking for a car to drive, and were going to mod anyway, I'd probably go w/ the C2 w/ mods since you probably can't build a car like that for the price that you are gonna buy it for (unless you're overpaying).
If you were gonna keep it stockish and looking to resell in the next few years, then RSA is probably a safer bet.
From a purely driving perspective, it's an RSA, not an RS, so it's not like the car is even superior to a regular C2 that has had work and is well sorted.

I've owned four 964's, and I've truly loved every one of them. However, for me, it all started with the '93 RSA release. Something about the limited run/very limited option part that really appeals to me. Probably obvious since I own two RSA's at the moment.
As most have mentioned, it obviously depends on what you plan on doing with it. If you're looking for a car to enjoy on the road and watch it appreciate in value, I'd go with the RSA. That's not to say the same won't happen with the C2 though, just probably not at the same rate. If you're going to track the car, just remember that once she's totalled, she's totalled no matter which one you buy. One is a little easier to replace than the other.
It also looks like the sunroof piece is playing on your mind. If it is (like it was for me since I have two non-sunroof RSA's), then I'd hold off and buy what you want. Otherwise, if it's for less weight on the track, buy the C2 and eliminate the sunroof on the C2.
In sum, if you're in the market to buy a good 964, life is good. Buy the one you'll enjoy the most! Best of luck.

PS . . . I swear I've seen a lot of stuff in my life, but that... was... *awesome* . . . but, sorry about your car, man. That... That sucks.

I really appreciate the additional headroom my RSA provides without the option sunroof. That alone was worth paying a premium for. An RSA with sunroof - I couldn't justify the price premium.

I've never understood the premium that RSA's command. The low mile/pristine RSA's that I've seen advertised are near $40K, which is very close to 996 TT money. (I know that they are water cooled.) The rest of them typically have aftermarket wheels and other less than desirable mods.
I can think of at least three 964 Carreras for sale on this board that are seriously dialed in, all in the mid $20's and offered by longtime Rennlisters. I would buy one of those cars and forego the $15K premium.
I am not knocking the RSA. It's a great car, but so are the standard Carreras.

You basically have the same car already as an RSA so there would be no point in switching now. I think both cars have basically found their value and I don't think either will go up or down significantly in the immediate future. The real premium you would pay is that you'd never get your money out of your car and you'd have to start all over with an RSA. That's the truly expensive part.
