Ed at porschedials.com just did it, he is super easy to work with and does a great job. I am having another one made with the turn signals and hi-beams in red so they will not be as light during the day. If you are looking for Red - PM me your address and I will send you this one when Ed finishes my new one(he is a bit slow, it may take some time).

Looks great, thinking of doing the same - is there enough contrast between orange needle & red gauge face or does it tend to wash out under certain lighting conditions? plan B is a light grey, ala 991..

Daryl,

Who wrapped your steering wheel and what do thy charge? It looks great and is a good alternative to a non airbag wheel.

Thanks guys. It was done in Poland CarsDream.com, nile13 on the 993 board setup a group buy a couple of years ago. I can't remember the price but it was a little less than what Dallas Customs charges, I think it was around $380. The workman ship is great but I think the color is little off. I have consider dying it but then I would lose the red stitching. I am thinking of switching out to a non-airbag wheel if I do I will post this one for sale.

I currently have a nardi wheel like this, but it's a bit worn, and I want to get a momo mod o7, will it fit on the same nardi hub. I notice how the 6 bolts are aligned differently on the nardi, instead of one bolt at the top momo style. The 6 bolts seem to be same distance apart it's just the alignment I'm not sure of.

Resurecting an older thread to ask the following:

Has anyone fitted more current OEM porsche airbag wheels to their 964? I have seen a couple of posts with 993 wheels and even a 996 steering wheel, but would one of the more current wheels work with the 964? As an impulsive cart before the horse kinda person...here is what I am thinking:

I just don't know if this would technically work with our cars...would there be any reason for this type of retrofit not to work?

Not a great shot of my custom wheel. leather work was done by Paul C. CF matches the factory exclusive CF dash. I plan on removing this wheel soon and returning everything to stock.

IMO it will just look to modern and not fit the style at all.

Yes, you can put a 993 or 996 steering wheel on the 964. They share the same steering shaft size. The 997/987 based cars have a different diameter so factory wheels from those cars won't fit.

Mark,

I appreciate the information. Many may think the modern airbag wheels don't look quite right, but the 3 spoke sport reminds me of the Momo and Nardi with the functionality of the airbag.
