Erick you are a star thank you very much for that, it started of with the intention of changing the shock absorbers then ended up while your in their !

Had the wishbones soda blasted then laquered happy with the results, powder coated the anti roll bar and refurbed the brakes which had £1400 spent on them 2 years ago but had bad plate lift and needed a good clean up, unfortunately wont get it finished this weekend as the dust seals for the calipers haven`t turned up today !

Just a small query when the wishbone bolts are torqued up should the wishbone move freely ? or would you expect resistance I have to exert a bit of force to get the wishbone to move up and down or will this free up once it has a bot of road use.

Gaz, you'll get lot of resistance once torqued. In fact, when I put my car back on the ground, it wouldn't even compress the springs entirely due to the resistance! The ride height only settled once I took it out for a drive.

For polyurethane bushings you can torque and go. But for new rubber bushings, you are supposed to "index" the bushings - torque at ride height, to prevent the rubber bushing from twisting within itself.

Nice looking pieces. Good luck!

I had exactly the same situation when I dropped it off the trolley jack it was still sitting high however a bounce on the wing and it settled right down to the ride height I was after

well finally managed to get the brakes done (still soft need to bleed again!!) however in regards the suspension took it for its first run today (still got the rears to do) and can only say I am delighted with the feel my initial concerns were that it would be "crashy" over the bumps but soaks them up nicely I fitted design tek springs which are a bit of an unknown quantity but again it has given me what I was looking for , I dont do track days (yet) so my key goals were to sharpen/firm up the suspension and lower the car to a nice stance so so far so good.

still a bit to go for final set up , fit the rears and get GEO sorted

happy boy so far
