Default Last night's strut brace project

I have wanted to do one of these for a long time, couldn't get anyone to tell me if it would fit over the warning triangle without interference. Finally broke down and got this carbon one from Vertex. Too pretty to hide, so I took it apart, mounted the base plates, then slit the carpet to allow them to poke through, then re-installed the bar. I'm happy with the look, haven't driven yet to notice a difference, but I feel it was a worthwhile addition on looks alone! Simple, rewarding project.

You will not notice any differace, but the looks will surely add a little to your top speed.

Looks great - and should tighten up your towers slightly - with your suspension setup I bet you do actually notice it.

I definitely noticed the difference on my '90 C2 when I installed a strut brace 8 years ago....though I run corner balanced, RS alignment specs and regularly autocross the car.

I totally noticed the difference. Once you are used to driving the car a little with the bar installed, take it out and take it for another drive. You will then clearly see the light This is a very nice improvement indeed. Especially like your install too!!!

Oh and BTW Dave, you need to update your signature line with this new upgrade...

Lol, I try to keep it to the significant stuff so that others that may have questions about those items can contact me with questions, but what the heck..

I also changed out front and rear hood struts, what a pain! I did this 10 yrs ago and had forgotten how difficult the rears were. Had to have my wife with smaller hands help. The next item will be to pull the clock and go over the solder joints, and remove the rest of the existing hard wired radar detector that is buried in the dash. Glad that the weather now allows me time to do things to the car in the garage!

Thats a nice low profile strut brace. Mine is quite a bit beefier.

What difference did you notice?

I have one gathering dust under the stairs which i din't fit for 2 reasons

1 i read it would increase understeer
2 I foolishly told my insurer and they point blank refused to cover me with it firtted. Only place that would considered it a modification and wanted hundreds of pounds extra

I like mine nice and discrete, can't even tell with the carpet in. I put mine in after a week of owning it, so can't comment really on the before and after. I do however believe that any cab can certainly benefit from a little extra rigidity.

Installed a Perfect Power strut brace on my C4 last night. Simple 15 min job.
Looks great...under the carpet & out of the way. Sorry did not take pics.
Same as Laker's here. Installed 21mm rear sway bar & new bushings to compliment this upgrade. Noticeable difference !
