Default WTB 964 C4

Now that I am in the position to buy a Porsche I am not seeing many C4s for sale. Passed on couple of nice ones over the past 5 years that I have been watching. I have never driven one or ridden in one but I know that i want one. I really want a manual midnight blue with tan interior. That would be ideal. looking to spend $20-25K.

Anyone know of an other places to look besides ebay, craigslist and autotrader and Cars.com. Finding lots of cabs and midnight blue tips. but no c4s.

I'm thinking of putting my C4 up for sale, and it should be in your price range.

I just got my car back from The Racers Group (TRG) in Petaluma, CA, this week after a complete engine rebuild (top and bottom end). I also had all new brake rotors installed, plus a Fabspeed by-pass. The car also has new tires all the way around and a brand new battery. I have invested more than $35,000 in the car. The car has always been a California car - no rust, no dings, no dents. The exterior and interior are in excellent condition. Manual transmission. Baltic Blue exterior and linen color interior. This is a 1989 C4 with 124,000 miles but less than 100 miles on the new engine.

I plan to post some photos this weekend with the intention of getting some forum members to help me with setting a fair price for a car that needs absolutely nothing and probably won't for a long time.

Suggest you drive one. Probably more than one. Why a C4? (I had a '92 C4 for six years, not knocking it at all, just wondering why the AWD is important.) And all C4s in the 964/993 range are manuals.

I think you may have to broaden your color choice, that midnight blue is one of my favorites, but can only think of 1 that I have seen in a 964 in my 13 years of owning and looking. There can't be many out there. At least not be picky on the interior, as that can be swapped. Good luck, love mine! The stability in real world situations and weather conditions make it much more comfortable to push a little harder.

I have missed out on several nice Midnight blue and tan combos since I have been watching the market. THe colors are not an absolute but should I say my favorite.
Not absolutly fixed on C4. But the main reason that I am leaning that way is the weather here in eastern Pa. I would love a car that I can drive in all weather. I have read all the C4 vs C2 posts but never driven either one. Not many too close to me to try out right now.

well I live in Doylestown and have a blk on blk c4 in manual. Love it but wouldn't drive it in bad weather. She is a creampuff only 53k miles and the motor was rebuilt at 38k miles to have the gasket kit done on the engine. It is a blast to drive. I have only seen one midnight blue and that was a cab.

I'm not making a serious effort to sell because I don't like to deal with (potential) customers, but I did float the idea of selling mine in the fall:

Between the years of 97 and 2000 I routinely drove it in the snow, including in an autocross in the the snow during which I handily beat cars that were always much faster than me in normal conditions.

There is a cab with the color scheme you want on ebay. Not C4 obviously...

I saw the car when I was looking for my C4 and passed on it. There's a reason it's been for sale for 8+ months.

What you don't see in the pictures is the Hula girl velcro'd to the dashboard.

Exactly................ based on my experience of 300.000 miles on 3 mid-70's 2WD 911's. And I haven't seen that much snow.

Midnight blue with tan is a great and rare color combo (same color combo as my turbo). I had never driven or ridden in a 3.6 turbo but I wanted one in exactly that color so I bought it on impulse. Have a look at the following car. My sense is that with Cup I wheels and Euro spring height, this would be a great car (no affiliation):

The baltic blue looks great, just don't care for the white interior. Easy to change the interior to another color?

why would you want to just look for one you like from the start. I looked high and low till I found my blk on blk c4 with low miles and great receipts and nicely done mods.

and with the interior I guess you could change it but i doubt the seller would drop his price because it is a preference for you. Mechanical issues no problem but color lol
