I'm having a hell of a time getting this thing into place. I can't get the bottom part full inserted.

Yes, they are very tight. I replaced my ledt side hose some time ago. I had to cut 2 or 3 small slots, 4-5 mm long, to make the upper end slide over the nozzle.

Yea, my biggest fear was piercing the tube and having to buy another new part.

I was able to get them in enough so that I think they will stay in place. The clamps that were previously on there would not tighten down enough, so I went w/ some zip ties.

We'll see how this holds. I may have to revisit and perhaps take your suggestion of slotting the ends.
