1992 Porsche 964 Coupe - Carrera Cup Car
Street Legal lightweight USA Racing edition series
Grand Prix White with Black Interior
1 of 45 made,
1 of only 20 not converted by Andial
Rare opportunity to own a rare, unmolested, Porsche factory produced race car. 200 pounds lighter that a standard C2. The Carrera Cup USA lightweight editions were imported by Porsche to compete in a national race series that never materialized. The cars are now considered one of the most sought after air cooled Porsches today. This car is absolutely pristine both in and out.

Looks like it. Wasn't it $125,000 last time it was listed?
I just don't see it. It's a cool car and I'd love one...if it was $85,000. But at $150,000...no thanks. The fact that only a few were made doesn't necessarily make it desirable nor does it guarantee that it will appreciate.
An ill fated US race series? Not a great provenance.
I'd put my money on a 964 Speedster or 3.6S.
I'm sure it's fun to drive though.

I have owned two of these in the past. First. let me say the price is a little high but...
These cars are great cars. They are the Carrera RS made in Europe and never imported into the USA. Although there are a few changes from the RS, mostly safety US issues, these are wonderful track cars and far more rare than most any other Porsche with the exception of maybe 3.6 "S" flatnose.

Not a $150k car probably more like $100K. As Jim says these are essentialy a 964 RS with US safety equipment. Sure you can buy a 964 RS in europe have it federalized and license it in US. Try finding a 964 RS that hasn't had the **** run out of it. The race spec US CC is same as a 964 cup but you can put plates on it and drive it on the street. I think these have terrific future value, they are a vastly different car than a 964 or RS America. Look at the multiple folks will pay for a 73 RS over 73S.
