Hang on - The wheel spacers were taken out pre rolling the arch lip, because of rubbing. But now that the arch lips have been rolled, would it be worth putting them back on? They are 6mm spacers.

The lump at the front covers the wing/PU join that we have mentioned that needs to chamfered down. The lump of course would still remain so I cut mine to stop it rubbing (on the basis that it would eventually rub away anyway):

Thats what I was beginning to think. Although, is it not a problem to leave a hole there? Thanks.

You need to spend some time working out where it is rubbing and when.

You mentioned 19s. I don't understand why the wheel diameter is a factor. Surely the tyre diameter is the important variable.

I think that little tab of plastic in the photo above has been cut-off in my car providing an extra 2mm or so.

You're caster is closer to the spec than mine, so cross that off my suggestion list.

Anyway .. shave the corner metal plate. go for a spin and then let us know where else it is rubbing and when.

I'm sure we can get your car even lower ;P

What height btw? RS height +/- what??

No you're right 19s having nothing to do with it.

So that's my plan of action, plus I'd like to go a little lower so we'll see how it goes. Guess I'll be popping to Robert Dyas after work, needed a new drill anyway so I'll buy something with a small circle saw attachment.

Pictures will be taken.

Thank you for all the help guys, appreciated. Always nice to know I'm not the only one with car head aches

Guess the solution is to keep things stock... wheres the fun in that! All about the hurdles!

Height wise I'm on KWV3s at 55mm both sides which represents 9cm from the ground to the bottom of front chassis rings, if that makes sense? Measuring from the floor to the top of the wheel arch, as I understand it, is inaccurate as the wings will never be spot on at the same position...

What is RS height and where is it measure from?

I'd suggest more of an angle grinder type approach than trying to cut it back with the 'small circle saw' attachment (if I have interpreted that correctly). With the angle drinder you can slowly grind it back and also grind back a bit of plastic too.

I think I know that chassis ring thing. I'll measure mine tonight from that point and let you know.

I know where your coming from, but I think I can get away with just cutting a small section out of the plastic guard alone. I'll investigate...

Just checked my car from that the bottom of that chassis ring thing and it was 97mm clearance.

I think that makes your car RS-10mm. Nice. I might have to go lower now!

Have you checked for correct ET? My car came with wheels with the outside rubbing phenomena. Turned out ET was to close to the limit. Took 2mm of the rims and that solved the issue. Now if you have rubbing on the inside wheel arch that will get worse, so making sure you have steering stops in place would be good too. Tricky problem this! Good luck!

I have joined the tyre rubbing club! I am getting various suggestions ranging from having a couple of mm's taken off the wheel to pull it in or grinding off the flange and rolling the arch - I must admit I prefer the former as I really hate the idea of mutilating the car. All views, opinions etc appreciated!

From looking at the damage on your tyre, I think your solution isn't rolling the guard or machining the wheel.

If you rub your finger in this spot here, you'll feel a sharp metal corner sticking out. That needs to be cut down with a dremel or filed.

If you can file down that point, I wouldn't be too surprised if that sorts out your problem once and for all.

I second that motion, grind it down with an angle grinder and then the next step is to roll the arches if the former doesn't work enough. Let us know how you get on.
