Beware of some of the recommended people here. When they did my speedlines, it was very clear it was above and beyond their capability. They had to outsource the paint work to another vendor, definitely not up to my standards. Things can look a lot better in pictures than in person.
Yesterday I checked my car to make it clear for the coming season.
I have done the same with the tires and my Speedline´s.
And...
... I noticed a small hair cut inside the wheel at the inner barrel.
Wait a moment, please!
... another one at the other wheel !
???
What´s that ?
???
I bought them many many years ago with my 964. I bought them new. And I never had a problem with them before.
And now ? I don´t know who will be able to repair the wheels. Or who is able to offer spare parts, because I think it wouldn´t be a problem to change and seal the wheels by myself but where can I get the barrels?
Can anybody help with any usable information?
Thanks !
Those cracks can be welded by a good repair shop who knows how to work with aluminum.
This has happened to my speedlines several times.
Elliot
to Turbohead:
Well, I don´t want to trust welded rim halves because I know it is difficult to find the identical welded rod to make it perfect. And it is necessary to finish the wheels perfect because all the horses at the rear wheels.
to Sifly:
... and I never want to drive replicas, because I don´t know which horrible aluminum alloy the casted.
I will check the ebay guy. It looks as he has many parts on stock.
If it is done I will place the new information on rennlist.
I bought a set 18" Cargraphic wheels on eBay from member "1st-german".
I am absolutly surprised about their condition. He described them as used but all parts were refinished including the repainted centers.
Here are some pictures and it would be fine to hear your statements.
Does anybody made some experience with those Cargraphic Racing wheels on 964 widebody?
front 18x8.5 offset 46 + rear 18x10 offset 40.
They are not placed on my car still at the moment. But I hope to do it on the coming weekend.

This rear offset will not fit 964 wide body .

Are you sure it is a through wall crack? I waffled my speedlines a couple of times and it is not so easy to do. Took a direct hit into a serious pot hole at 80 MPH to bend them slightly. In both cases they never cracked just bent and I was able to have them trued again without cracking.
It sounds like you are talking the outer lip and not the inner barrel. If so it is harder to repair.

Thank you for your feedback Elliot.
Yes, that´s right. I phoned with the german seller "1st-german". It´s clear I ordered the wrong wheels with offset 40. My mistake.
Now I send back the rear wheels and he will change the inner and outer rim halves to get the right offsets.
