Does anyone know if i can remove my front calipers off the discs without disconnecting the brake line going into the back of the caliper as i have a busted bleed screw. It's a metal hose but i only need it to bend over a touch. I'm hoping it's flexible enough.
I'm doing this as i need to check my discs for warping as i'm getting slow speed judder on braking though i think also the hubs weren't cleaned properly when they were changed.
Hi Raoul,
Yes, you can carefully remove the calipers and hang them with ZipTies to the Spring, or in this case (with mud guard removed) Air Cond. line bracket.
Thanks mate, useful photo too. That's my next thing to do then. Just fitted a new oil thermostat......messy job, need to clear the driveway and garage floor first.
Raoul, you'll find there is a spring clip on the shock, where the metal line joins the flexible line. Remove that and then you can move and hang the caliper as shown in Laker's pic.
plates are corroded underneath but have a pair of calipers i'm refurbing so will swap when they're ready but wanted to suss out the discs first as they're only 3000 miles old.
