Cut the **** out of the stock boot, roll the cut edge inside? Unfortunately you may have had to slip the boot over the bottom of the new lever before installing it.

Do tell us what you think of the feel of the shifter, this is a change I really want to make.

Performance.
Well it does its job, there is less movement in the gear changes, so its short shifting.
Feals good when driving, solid.
Love the look (need to sort a gear gaiter thingy).
Works better than previous short shifters in other cars.

But, i didnt fit it, thats where the issues become apparent.
This gear stick/shifter isnt designed for a pre 92 car (mine is a 90), so needs a lot of work to fit.
Hours of work cutting steel under the car in a small space, with allmost no room for error.
Had to make bushes to fit around link pin, to prevent slack movement.
Not an easy fitment on an early 964.
I was billed 3 hours to fit shifter!
Thats a lot.

On a later car (92+) its probably under an hours work.

I like the shifter but mayb the cost outways the like!?!

Hi Russ,

Possibly a dumb question, why didn't you fit the 964 RS gear shift parts along with the 993 RS solid change rod ?
